That's me, Teresa! Along with my handsome husband and three adorable, but crazy rambunctious boys! They keep us busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way! When I'm not spending time with these guys hiking the trails behind our house,  playing soccer, catching baseballs or swimming, I enjoy playing volleyball, golfing, scuba diving and gardening. All this love for life overflows into my passion for showcasing your family's uniqueness through the art of photography! Let's make something beautiful!

Here's a little bit more about me and how I got my start in photography:

My true passion for photography started shortly after giving birth to my first son.  As most proud parents do, we were constantly photographing our new little person. We even bundled him up and took him for his first professional portraits. However, I remember walking away tearful, disappointed and on the hunt to fix it! You see, in what was just shy of 15 minutes, they took his newborn pictures, our family pictures, whisked us off to the kiosk for our proofs and they went on to the next customer. Looking back, I wanted more of an "experience". Someone who listened to our story, someone who saw us as unique, and someone who wanted to tell our story through photography. Something I vow now to give to each of my clients.

I sure am thankful that God saved us a long search, because my then chiropractor listened to our experience and recommended Trish from Personality Portraits in Colorado Springs, CO. She is amazing!! She was patient, funny and everything we had hoped for in a family photographer. I was in aww of the images she created and soon found myself practicing with my son each week. Soon my husband bought me my first DSLR camera, a Nikon D3000. I took every class the camera store offered with its purchase and even a full day workshop with Trish; which included a critique session--which I loved! From then on, I often dreamed of one day starting my own business, but never thought it was possible.

After a job transfer back to Illinois, my brother-in-law asked me to photograph their engagement pictures at Busch Stadium. It was then that we knew it was time to launch Love the Light Photography. And here we are, just crossing over 1000 fans on Facebook this year and growing more each day! I'm grateful for each family and engaged couple that I meet, knowing they have a story to tell through the love they have for each other! The best part about my business is the flexibility it allows me to be there for my husband and kiddos; which I do believe to be my greatest calling. And a double bonus is being able to give back to the community through my work. A portion of every session goes to the Mosaic Pregnancy and Health Center with offices in Granite City and Belleville Illinois.

Each of us has a story to tell, I look forward to meeting you and helping to capture your life's story too!
