Why do a Maternity Session?

So you’re expecting…congratulations! And since you’re here I’m guessing you’re also considering a maternity session. As a mom to 3 boys myself, I feel like I can speak directly why you won’t regret capturing these moments.

Believe it or not, you’re going to miss this beautiful bump and this special time you have with your spouse before baby arrives.

Let’s break it down, here are 5 Reasons to have a Maternity Session:

1. To remember what it’s like being pregnant. A maternity session gives you a vivid memory to look back on and cherish this unique time in your life before baby arrives. You’ll be able to reflect on what it felt like to carry those sweet little cheeks you love to kiss!

2. Capture the love you and your spouse share before baby arrives. As you prepare to embark on parenthood, these are the last moments you’ll have just the two of you capturing that love story you share in creating this little bundle of joy.

3. Maternity Photos are great for showing your child what it was like carrying them. Photographs create a sense of belonging, and a maternity session is a great way to showcase the love you had for your little people before you held them in your arms. Here’s another blog I’ve written on the importance of family photos!

4. For you! This is the one I personally regret not having is professional photos of myself while pregnant with each of my boys. Take the time to pamper yourself with a pedicure, get your hair and makeup done, don a gorgeous dress and stop time for a moment with some beautiful portraits of your glowing self. Full disclosure, I do have photos of me but they were done by my husband and he doesn’t know the best angles ;)

5. This time is once in a lifetime. Once this time floats away, it’s gone forever. You will want to look back on this time and cherish the memory…it’s the only way we can stop time for a moment to remember for a lifetime!

If you’re interested in booking a maternity photo session I recommend that you contact me during your second trimester and we’ll schedule a date for your photoshoot when you are 32-36 weeks pregnant.
