Bloomington IL Senior Session Locations

As you close out your final years of high school, it’s time to photograph your Senior Portraits to highlight you. There are a few steps that go into this process, one of which is choosing locations that best suit your uniqueness and style so we can portray true to you photos.

For the purpose of this blog post I’m going to be highlighting a few favorite locations in the Bloomington Normal area, but I also travel frequently to Chicago and St Louis to create a memorable experience for my Seniors too!

Downtown Bloomington (above)

This is a popular location that boast great store front architecture along with some grungy alley ways. The ivy on the walls and black wrought iron staircase are a favorite spot for photos among many seniors. Downtown Bloomington also has the Castle Theatre and History of Museum for some retro and a bit of a historic vibe to your portrait session.

Uptown Normal and around Bloomington (above)

Uptown Normal is a vibrant part of town that host many great store fronts too, along with the historic mural wall on the Uptown Normal Circle. Uptown Normal also has a wrought iron staircase and cool exposed brick walls. It’s a bit more trafficked being close to the university and you can expect to see an occasional passerby in your final images.

Nature and Park-like Settings

I do recommend breaking up the hardscape imagery with some greenery, and that’s easy to do in the Bloomington Normal and surrounding area. A few popular locations are Comlara Park in Hudson, IL, Moraine View State Park in LeRoy, IL, Fransen Nature Center in Normal, IL and Ewing Park in Bloomington, IL. Depending on your final vision, each of these spots has something unique to offer from tall wispy grass to babbling brooks and wooden bridges.

And sometimes the best location is seasonal, one you found or is on your private property. At the end of the day my goal is to create a memorable experience that makes you shine! I’ve stood in 45 degree weather to get “that shot”, climbed on top of a vehicle for a better angle, and even charmed my way into using a residential rooftop penthouse for some nice skyline portraits to capture the edgy side of a Senior Session. I’m happy to go the distance and I always love a good adventure!
