Meet Emma Selucky | Normal Community High School Senior
When it comes to senior pictures, one of the biggest worries I hear is: “What if my photos don’t really feel like me?” Too often, seniors end up with cookie-cutter poses and backdrops that don’t reflect their personality or story. That’s why I believe senior photography should be about more than just pretty pictures. It should be about creating images that shine a light on who you are in this moment.
For Emma Selucky, a Class of 2026 senior from Normal Community High School, her vision was clear: she wanted senior photos that were as bold, creative, and meaningful as she is. Working together in the Bloomington-Normal area gave us the perfect mix of locations to bring that vision to life.
Bringing Her Ideas to Life

We started her session at Illinois State University’s Horticulture Center in Normal, IL, where she wore a long flowy dress surrounded by blooms. It was the perfect setting to bring out her softer, elegant side.
Then Emma wanted to lean into her country style. Flare jeans, a cowboy hat, and red boots with stars on the soles were the perfect outfit for her photos on top of a rolled hay bale while proudly holding an American flag. It was a tall order, but we found the perfect spot just outside of Bloomington, and those photos turned out to be some of my absolute favorites.
Her vision didn’t stop there. Emma also styled a fun look with a cow print skirt and brown top, set against a stretch of country road lined with zinnias.
Finally, we ended with one of the most unique setups I’ve photographed: a handmade wooden swing lined with flowers, suspended above a pond by a tractor (thanks to her mom’s creativity!). She wore a flowy pink dress, and the whole scene looked like something out of a storybook.
The Power of Personalizing Your Session

Emma’s session is a reminder that your senior photos don’t have to look like anyone else’s. They should be full of you—your style, your passions, your story. And if you have a dream, even one that sounds a little out there, we’ll find a way to make it happen. The last thing you want is to look back and wish your photos had captured more of your personality.
What’s Next

The best part? This is only the beginning of Emma’s senior photo journey. We’ll be finishing her session in the spring to highlight her track season. Her story deserves to be captured in every season of this special year.
