This is the part I feel most strongly about, and I want to share it honestly.

Somewhere along the way, a lot of us bought into the idea that who we are right now - our age, our face, our body, the life we're carrying - isn't quite enough. That we need to stop the clock. Smooth it over. Present a younger, slimmer, more "ideal" version of ourselves before we're worth taking seriously.

AI headshots don't challenge that belief. They agree with it.

And I think that's the deeper problem. Not just that the photo looks artificial, but that using it quietly tells you, one more time, that you need to be something other than what you are.

I struggle with those same thoughts myself. I have to remind myself regularly that the God of the universe - the one who created us all, doesn't see someone who needs to be filtered or adjusted. He sees someone He loves unconditionally. And when I look through my camera at the women I photograph, I see that too. I see it clearly.

One of my favorite pictures of this is a flower. A flower planted in the ground doesn't look to its left or its right before it blooms. It just blooms, right where it is.

You carry a story in your face. In the way you hold yourself. In the laugh lines and the strength and the seasons you've lived through. That story is worth showing, not hiding.
